Last week I went into town with a colleague. Since she is not from Lucerne, I brought her to the lion monument. We wanted a photo together, so I approached a woman who was sitting on a bench there. As soon as I looked into her eyes, the Holy Spirit showed me some things about her life. After the photo we got straight to God and I spontaneously invited her to accompany us so that I could tell her more about Jesus. We were able to explain the gospel to her over coffee and pray for her. This young woman comes from Canada from a completely unreached territory. She told me that she had never heard this message and neither had anyone in her neighborhood….
Easier than boiling water
Do you live an evangelistic lifestyle? If not - it's not too late to develop one! Such testimonies as mentioned above are everyday situations that every Christian can experience. In the book of Acts we read of many such Spirit-led encounters. The fact that you talk about Jesus regularly does not happen overnight. It's step by step and starts in your heart. The more you feel God's heartbeat in your chest, the more you will be filled with His longing and devotion. You will learn to love your neighbor and because you love him you make him a disciple of Jesus. Five simple steps will lead to the spread of the kingdom of God. The first three are up to you. As you can see, as easy as boiling water!
- Love God (Mt.22,37:XNUMX)
- Love your neighbor (Mt.22,39:XNUMX)
AND whast thou to love thy neighbor... - ...you make him a disciple of Jesus! (Mt.28,19:20-XNUMX)
- This is how Jesus will build his church... (Mt.16,18:XNUMX)
- ...and the kingdom of God is coming. (Matthew 6,10:XNUMX)
If you want to grow in love, your first step is not evangelism, but prayer. Anyone can pray. Even if fear of man may still keep you from the evangelistic lifestyle it doesn't stop you from praying.
Your prayer card
Create a personal one prayer card, where you write down contacts you have entrusted to you, such as neighbors, work colleagues, employees in shopping, colleagues from sports, other mums, people from the neighborhood etc. etc. and start praying for these people every day. pray for open hearts and opportunities for testimony admit. Pray not only for the contacts, but also for their contacts. I promise you that something will change in you. Through prayer God gives us love for these people. And if we love people, we will also tell them about Jesus.
